Birthdays
The birthday feature has two parts:
- Main directory — shows a small cake on the card when today is the colleague’s birthday.
- Birthdays companion web part — a standalone web part that lists upcoming birthdays.
Create the SharePoint list
Create a custom list in your SharePoint site. Name it TeambookBirthdays (or any name you configure).
Required columns:
| Column | Type |

Enable on the main directory
Property pane > Birthday celebrations:
- Toggle Enable birthday celebrations to ON
- Set Birthday list name to the list you created

Add the Birthdays web part
On any page, add TeamBook - Org Connected Birthdays Webpart from the web part picker. Configure it to point to the same list.
Options:
- Days ahead — how far in advance to show upcoming birthdays (default 7)
- Layout — vertical or horizontal
- Show dates — date labels on cards

Privacy
Birthday dates come from the SharePoint list you provide. Nothing is read from Entra ID for birthdays — you control exactly what is stored.
